Versum allows you to create and sell vouchers based on existing templates. 


After you enable the Gift Cards add-on, there are two default templates in the system: a specific amount gift card (allows you to specify the value of the gift card during each sale) and a specific service gift card (allows you to specify what services the voucher can be redeemed for). Apart from that, you can create your own templates. If you haven't created any templates yourself, during a sale, Versum will automatically select a default template.


Gift cards can be sold:

  • during appointment checkout
  • within the inventory module
  • within the list of existing templates in the Gift Cards add-on settings

To sell a gift card during appointment checkout:

  1. Click an appointment you'd like to check out, and then click check out appointment » More on checking out appointments
  2. Click add a sale below the service list, then select sell an amount gift card or sell a service gift card, depending on what type of voucher you'd like to sell:

  3. Choose the template that will be used to generate the gift card

    Tip: 
    There are two default gift card templates that allow you to enter the amount or select services each time you sell a gift card. They are the specific amount gift card and specific services gift card, respectively. For the templates you created yourself, all details will be filled in automatically based on those templates.

  4. If you'd like to enter the number of the gift card manually (e.g. in case of gift cards sold outside Versum), click the ID tab, then click enter manually. Otherwise the number will be generated automatically.

  5. If the owner of the gift card will be different than the buyer, go to the Owner tab and specify the owner

  6. If you'd like to add a memo (visible to the staff) or an inscription (visible to the customer on the gift card printout and in the online booking panel), go to the Notes tab > More about gift card memos and inscriptions

  7. Once you enter all all other information required for appointment check-out, click the check out appointment button at the bottom of the window.


A list of purchased vouchers will be available in the customer records of the buyer and the owner, as well as on the list of sold vouchers in the Gift Cards add-on settings. They will also be able to see their gift cards in their online booking accounts.

The buyer of the voucher will receive an email confirmation of the purchase. > More about automatic confirmation message


To sell a gift card in the Inventory module:


  1. Click Inventory in the main left sidebar
  2. Click the little drop-down button next to add sale, and select sell amount gift cards or sell service gift cards, on what type of voucher you'd like to sell:

  3. Follow the steps 3-6 above
  4. Enter the customer's name:

  5. Enter the name of the employee who sold the voucher (this step is optional but necessary if you'd like to track commissions):

  6. Once you've entered all required information, click add sale at the bottom of the form.

To sell a gift card from the list of templates in Gift Cards settings:


This option will actually redirect you to the inventory module, but may come in handy if you view you templates list and would like to sell a gift card quickly.

  1. Click settings in the main left sidebar
  2. In the Add-on settings section, click gift cards
  3. Click the cart icon next to the voucher you'd like to sell (if you'd like to sell a service gift card, you first need to go to the service gift cards tab):

  4. After you click the cart icon, you will be redirected to the inventory module. Complete the sale as you would selling a voucher in that module. For information, see steps 3-6 above.
